The flow rate of this Centrifuge is 2 GPM or 110 gallons per hour and was made specifically to clean waste vegetable oil. Height is 8.6” and has a diameter of 5.7”. The rotor holding capacity is 34.17 cubic inches (560cc). It will take approximately 30 minutes to process one drum of WVO.
The viscosity also enters into the equation, the thinner the better so heating the fuel to 150+ will also increase performance. 180 degrees is the hottest temperature you will want to use. You can clean the oil to less than 1 micron if you run enough passes; you will never reach less than 1 micron with one pass. If you are filtering down to 100m prior to the centrifuge then it will take 2-3 passes of the oil to get the desired <1 micron. If you are filtering down to 5m prior to the centrifuge you can get the desired <1 micron rating with approximately 2 passes.
The centrifuge cleans oil by generating a centrifugal force 4,000 times greater than gravity. The pressure spins the rotor at an ~ rate of 8,100 rpm’s, separating the solid contaminants from the waste oil and spinning them to an outer bowl, which is easily cleaned by taking it apart and scraping out the "gunk".
The rotor will be hot and will take approximately 20 minutes to cool prior to cleaning and cleaning the rotor will take approximately 5 minutes. You can purchase an extra rotor that will allow you to quickly change it out and keep your centrifuge running; while cleaning your 1st rotor. Seals are viton material.
This centrifuge has a 1/2" NPT inlet port. Includes mounting bracket, pressure gauge, control valve & 1 paper liner; the liner traps most of the sludge in the rotor making clean up easier.
This centrifuge is American Made with a 5 year warranty.
~You need to purchase a pump with motor to operate the centrifuge.
~This centrifuge will clean waste and/or virgin vegetable oil, used motor oil or Biodiesel in the wash process.
~This centrifuge will remove magnesol, more than one pass may be needed.
~To remove glycerin at the end of the process no heat is needed. More than one pass may be needed.
~Centrifuges are not a methanol recovery device.
~Centrifuges can not be used to remove lye from Biodiesel production. Water wash is required.
