In cold conditions you may need to blow out the filter. This is done by installing the 1/4" mpt Threaded Valve Stem on the pressure gauge. After you have finished filtering close the pump suction valve; pressurize the filter with ~10 psi of air. Use the nozzle and let the air psi blow the oil out of the filter and put it back in the sediment drum. After the filter and outlet hose are empty; pressurize it with ~ 5psid of air. open the pump suction valve. This will blow all the oil out of the line coming from the pump. When the line is empty close the valve. Now when you want to filter again, open the pump suction and start the pump. This will ensure that the oil in the filter is always hot when filtering.
